In 2018, Port Lympne began to develop its high end accommodation offering. Oak Creative were appointed to deliver a sophisticated rebrand for Port Lympne, Howletts and The Aspinall Foundation, so that all entities within the group were visually aligned.
Oak Creative has a longstanding relationship with the parks, having successfully delivered advertising campaigns for the previous 10 years. This strategic rebrand was a pinnacle / momentous moment / turning point for the future of the unique safari experiences in Kent.
This rebrand set the foundations for the park’s expansion into overnight safari experiences. Port Lympne are now the UK market leaders in animal staycations and sell £10m in accommodation a year (and growing!).

What did the rebrand involve?
This rebrand came at a time of strategic importance for the business. Port Lympne in particular was transitioning to an overnight tourism attraction rather than a day trip destination. The decision to bring all three entities (Port Lympne, Howlett’s and The Aspinall Foundation) into the same family had never been done before and it marked the sign of a new chapter for the business.
The criteria for the new branding was to be sleek, simple and sophisticated. This works extremely well as the stunning landscapes, majestic animals and cool accommodation imagery naturally become the hero in marketing materials against a simple brand.
Oak Creative designed a Style Guide which details the specific fonts, layouts and styles which should always be followed. It’s essential to lay down some ground rules for your brand, to make sure it always looks it’s very best.
